A 2D Platformer game about colours. This game was created with the help of a team, where I was the Game and Level Designer. I was also in charge of creating the story and writing a dialogue system.
In this game, the player must navigate their way through the level while avoiding hazards and rescuing bats. They also need to make use of the power of their coloured cloaks - Green, Yellow and Red - in order to get past coloured platforms; For example, whenever the player uses the green cape, they can pass through green blocks and traps without an issue.
This was my very first game and at this point, I had little experience in programming; Thus, the dialogue system was programmed with the help of a tutorial series. I also worked together with the artists to design the levels and hazards, while giving ideas for the character design of the player. As this was my first game, it was a great achievement for me when our team submitted this project as we completed our very own game.
Though the game is nothing very special, I believe it is important as it reminds me of how far I've come, especially in terms of programming knowledge as I progressively became more comfortable with C# in the later projects, as well as being a compass that motivates me to continue working in this course.
